Ever since 8th grade, after reading the book “Rich dad, Poor Dad,” by Robert Kiyosaki about starting a company, Jiby became fascinated with entrepreneurship. She followed her passion as an undergrad, when she worked on several healthcare startups.
After a four-year career in research and development at an in-vitro diagnostics company, she could understand the challenges and process of designing, developing and bringing a product onto the market. The insights gained through her career led her to pursue a master’s in the Medical Technology Design program at Duke, the program that focuses on interdisciplinary segments of healthcare, entrepreneurship and business.
She loves to develop healthcare products that make patients feel comfortable, less panicked, and less reluctant to visit hospitals. She intends to achieve this by developing strategies of empathy during the design phase of healthcare products. She is looking forward to implementing the skills she has acquired during her graduate education as she continues her career in healthcare.
She is an active IEEE Volunteer and enjoys time with family, hosting
campaigns, content writing in
LinkedIn, dancing, hiking and social entrepreneurship. Some of the independent projects she led in India in the past two years were
Venus campaign and
Biomed 360.
Her current project focuses on "Finding the Real Need", and this is based on her ideology of "Real solution to a problem lies in the problem".
